When it comes to trying to find the perfect balance between work life and personal life, the shit is hard. As a newly wed, I can definitely say that I struggled with when to turn the work hat back on, with COVID-19 there were even more complications. I can’t say that I have it all figured out now, but through trial and error I founds somethings that. worked for me, maybe they could work for you too.
Don’t get your panties in a bunch, I am not talking about a day off from work, lol. Every now and then I do think its a great idea to take a day off from your day-to-day routine. Me and my wife made the decision to use Sunday as a day of self-care meaning we work separately and then at the end of night we come together and cook dinner. What this has afforded us is the luxury of missing each other all while creating boundaries and making sure we have at least one day to do the things that we want individually. We also have weekly date nights so that we don’t just sit in the house all day, the day of the week fluctuates because we both work from home.
The best thing I ever did for myself was figure out exactly how long it took me to do each task. When implemented correctly I can plan my weeks not based on time but based on what needs to be delivered that week. There cane be some drawbacks to working like this … some weeks can be very light, others can be hectic. So plan wisely!
The main thing we all need to do is make sure we are making time for working, playing, sleeping and eating.
